Nate's new 3 in 1 trike

Nate's friends gave him a cool new trike for his b-day. Here he is helping put it together. He is really getting the hang of how to ride the rocker and he's even using it to perfect his circus skills.

It was a little hot today, so he slept like this... this was yesterday...

July 3rd Beach Day

Look how clean he started out....
Getting very messy... want a hug?...

oh boy, lots of sand everywhere, ears, mouth, eyelashes. I had lots of fun cleaning him up, ha! ...
Right when we got in the car he passed out.
He was so tired when we got home that we put him directly into his crib, sand and all.
Here, he's getting a little bit of a second wind. Dave is exhausted now.

Happy 1st Birthday!

Happy Birthday, Nate!!!! It's been a very "active" year, to say the least. He is definitely a full blown toddler now.... walking, climbing, running, getting into everything :) We are having tons of fun (whew!).

Nate is still growing into a big boy... He is 85% in height and weight. We get lots of comments on how he's going to be a line backer or be into some sort of sports, especially with his activity level.

He's been really cute lately, holding our hand and leading us to where he wants to go, pointing, doing some new signs (he just learned "milk" and "dog"), and trying to say some words (he tries to say da (dad), mama, and dah (dog) and maybe a couple of others (he says something for bird too). His new skill within the past week or two is climbing onto chairs and then onto the table.

And, boy, is he into food!! I am learning not to hold him when I am in the kitchen because he wants anything that's out on the counter (especially bananas and avocados). He loves pretty much all food and it seems like he wants to eat all day long since he's so active. Our dog, Sadie, is finally warming up to Nate since he can now carry around snacks and loves to feed them to her :). Nate also knows which balls are Sadie's and tries to give them to her.

It's amazing to think about how far we've come in a year!

Climbing

Nate's doing a lot of climbing these days. This was yesterday at Foley Vineyards in the Santa Rita Hills. Nate kept trying to escape from the tasting room to go play outside.

Iron Girl 10K in Del Mar

new PR for Kelly, yeah!!!!
Aunt Judy, her friend from Canada, and then me with the bright red face :)
Just a year ago, it hurt so much to even walk to the mail box, so I am so excited to have accompished beating my fastest pre-pregnancy 10K time.

Yes, he will eat anything...including limes!
