Strawberry picking in Carlsbad

It was so funny seeing all of the toddlers' heads popping up from the leaves

YMCA Open Gym

The YMCA has a special open gym time for preschoolers and toddlers. I don't think I've ever seen Nate having so much fun. He was in his element here! I got such a good workout chasing him around.

"hangin'" out

parachute!

This was after he ran across this long trampoline

Jumping and then landing on the spring board

playing on the wedge shaped mat

He loved running on top of all of the shapes. He was so fast, I could hardly keep up with him. It was like he had been to the gym to practice before.

Nate was fearless in this foam pit! He kept diving in and then I'd have to rescue him.

Weekend trip to the Santa Ynez Valley

We took a trip to wine country this weekend. Nate did amazing in on the car ride! He's getting so much easier to travel with. He enjoyed the open fields, tractors, cows, and many other things in wine country. Saturday, we had a babysitter come up from Santa Barbara so we could go wine tasting with our friends. Dana and Jay have two children and they left them with family for the weekend so all of us were happy to have a little baby-free time to enjoy some great wine.

Running through the vineyards was such an adventure for Nate.

View from the first winery we went to. Oh how I wish we could have stayed for a picnic! so pretty.

Nate's learning to say "cheese" and then smile for the camera

We met my friend, Liza, on Sunday to celebrate her birthday in downtown LA.

at the end it says "Resurrection" and opens up into the beautiful valley

Dave was actually on the phone to his parents here and Nate cut his finger on the cactus right after I took this. BUT, it LOOKS like a serene photo :)

Nate really liked being in the hotel crib after all of the activities during the day. He went to bed so much easier than normal during traveling (to our relief).
ha, he pulled his toilet up to the table to read books. (We did not teach him to read on the potty, he thought of it himself... just so you know :)!!)

having fun at the beach

we have a lot of rocks on the beach from the winter high tides

getting ready to go in his bike trailer, although it looks like he's ready to ride a real bike.

Easter Eggs!

Happy Easter everyone. I hope you had an "EGGs"tra special day! Here are some pictures from some egg hunts Nate went on:

our neighbors invited us outside to hunt for eggs.

Nate loves hanging out with the bigger kids

he started to say "whoa" or "wow" when he found an egg

These pictures are from our playgroup's egg hunt on Friday. It was a gorgeous day. We each brought 12 eggs filled with toddler friendly things like playdoh, little stuffed animals, crackers, and little toys... it was exciting to see all the fun things the parents came up with to fill the eggs... and then we mixed them up and put them on the grass for the kids to gather.
