Happy 5 year anniversary to us :)
Thank you, Gene and Barb, for taking Nate so we could get some R&R for the weekend....little Alexander got to go with us on our mini vacay to Manitou Springs (in the foothills next to Colorado Springs). We had a great time exploring this little town.
We found some vintage penny arcade games.

and treats hidden all over the place!
sometimes it takes 3 toothbrushes to get your teeth clean
hiding from us behind the door
feeding Mr. Alexander
he loves bathtime
New giant teddy bear for Nate's room. We all love sitting next to it for story time
Bear crawl on the parallel bars at Gymnastics
I am not sure why the videos are not working. If anyone is familiar with this problem and knows a solution, let me know. I've tried re-uploading and also googling the problem but no luck.

First glimpse at Spring
We decided to make silly monsters and aliens out of our Easter eggs. Normally, Nate doesn't like to eat eggs but he ate 3 egg whites after making these. He calls the yolk a "stinky ball" and won't eat that part.
Beautiful flowers on Pearl Street in Boulder
Our friends, Frank and Julia, were in town for a few days. We decided to do a little hike with them since the weather was so nice (as I am writing this, it is snowing outside now!)
Our family overlooking Boulder
Nate on the Bald Mountain hike
Frank and Dave with Fort Collins in the distance
Julia and Nate on the trail
wow, he's grown!
helping Alexander sit up
sunset + wine + dinner on the grill + warm weather = perfect night!

"Zoo"per Fun!
Nate was on Spring Break last week so we I took the boys down to the Denver Zoo. Not as amazing as the San Diego Zoo but since it was smaller, we were able to see almost all of the animals in a couple of hours.
The polar bear exhibit was our favorite. The bear was very active when we were there.

Alexander's two months
Alexander had his two month checkup yesterday. He is 11lbs 14.5 oz and is 22 3/4" long. He is still at the 50th percentile for height, weight, and head. I think Nate was 14lbs and 25" when he was this age and exceeded 95th percentile.
Alexander is doing very well. I would describe his personality so far as pretty mellow and predictable. He is becoming more social with a variety of sounds and smiles. He is learning to turn a bit to the side. 2 or 3 feet is about the distance he can see clearly.
We are still not getting much sleep at night though. He usually has a long 4 hour stretch of sleep around 8pm but then is up every couple of hours after that in the night. We long for a good night's rest and hope he will start to sleep longer very soon.
Nathan is still not a big fan of the baby. Every once in a while he will try to entertain him but usually he is pretty jealous of the time the baby takes away from his time with us. We try to involve him in making it fun to help but it is taking some time to adjust. Nate has gone through a lot of change in the past few months!
