Houston

Jason and Naomi at the BRC Gastropub
Nate was out of control during this dinner. I passed him over to that side of the booth, lol... dad had fun teasing him.

train ride through the shark tank at the downtown aquarium
here comes the train
Nate and I went on a ferris wheel at the aquarium
Everyone was at work this day, so Nate and I went on adventure across downtown.
Liz and baby Ruby
Carmen and Nate waiting for the light rain train downtown.
Nate was busy at St. Martin's nursery while while we were in church.
resting after a crazy time in the pool
Nate insisted on jumping off the ledge into Jason's arms....he did it about 10 times

great idea for a hot day
thanks, Jason! yum!
Jason knows how to cook for a party
Surprise, mom, it's a party for you! She didn't know Jan and Pat were coming from OKC, so this was her reaction when they walking into the room.
When Nate woke up, every morning, the first this he did was look out the window to see what was happening in the park and on the street below. Lots to see- kids, water fountains, trucks, buses, tractors...
it's more comfortable sitting in the bushes
Nate and mom before the pool party
a hot nap in the stroller
We were sitting outside drinking cocktails when I took this picture. This is the park in front of mom and dad's apartment
Not a bad place to live! Their apartment is on the 20th floor.

At the spraygrounds in the park, Nate loved following Carmen (my friend, Liz's daughter. Liz and I went to high school together):

Happy Birthday Trip

Nate and I are off to Houston tomorrow to celebrate my mom's birthday (it was a surprise until a week ago)! We are going from 65 degree weather to 95 degrees... I sure hope we don't melt :-) Nate is very excited to ride in the airplane. See you when we get back!

Party Time

Our neighbor, Keiko, had a birthday party this weekend:
Can you find Nate in this picture?
Nate and Brady on the slide
inside the jumpy

Bahia Belle Cruise

neat tree at the hotel
having a beer by the bay and watching the dancers at the hotel. yes, this is how gloomy it was for 8 days straight.
a duck at the hotel with her little ones underneath

on the Bahia Belle (the nickname is the "booze cruise" because you can go from bar to bar at the hotels on either side and order drinks while on the 20 minute cruise)

In the car

coloring!

I think what prompted him to color himself was seeing some kids get face painted at preschool. He really thought this was okay to do!

4th of July Weekend

Demolition Derby at the San Diego County Fair. Nate's clapping at the action here.
Dave and Nate after the Derby

Just starting

Large and small trucks showing off before the demolition cars came out. Nate was so amused.

feeding the animals

stinky cow

you would not believe the food you could get at the fair.

everything at this stand is deep fried

Our neighbor said he tried the deep fried butter (a whole stick!) and it tasted like a croissant. He said he didn't feel too great afterwards though, lol!

our neighbors found some sparklers in Orange County!

Nate knows that fire is supposed to be in the fireplace so he kept putting the sparkler inside.

Luckily, we went to the beach when we did because the rest of the weekend was all gloom and drizzle.

He insisted on pulling the wagon with all of our beach gear!
Jazz in the Park. Nate sees a balloon that got away.
