August Colorado trip

Nate's new favorite activity is cutting. Above, practicing his skills with Nana.
Below, evidence of Edward Scissorhands and a monkey jumping on the bed (a.k.a Nate) visiting our hotel room. Nate loves cutting anything and everything. The mess before this one was even bigger. A kinetic/ tactile learner at work.
Our potential new home near Lousiville, CO. Dave is really missing the mountain life, so we may just take the plung!
A dvd player is such a great thing to have for our long trips in the car. I checked out a Heathcliff movie from the library for the trip and it was by far his favorite.
stopping to check out the buffalo along I-70

A stop for ice cream at an old fashioned parlour in Idaho Springs
watching the dogs' nails being trimmed was so fascinating to Nate.
Barb, Nate and I hung out at the kids area in Keystone during the Beer and Bluegrass fest. Nate enjoyed panning for interesting rocks.

 Corvettes in Frisco
Nate said he liked the yellow cars so we took a picture next to one that he liked.
 On the Breckenridge gondola
The snow was a bit cold for his summer attire, but he enjoyed throwing rocks into the pile.
Lots of activities were available up on the mtn. Sledding, coasters, dining, and many kids activities. I think it was about 75 degrees, so it was very enjoyable to be outside.
The Alpine SuperSlide. So much fun! This is near the end, but before the pile up, you could get going pretty fast.
Beautiful wildflowers are nearly everywhere this time of year in the mountains
photo op on the chair lift

Dave and I on the last day. We had a great time in Colorado visiting Gene, Barb, Ali, and Matt!
Nate loves finding new ways to do things. Above, he loves climbing in our laundry basket and popping out. He goes in head first and it's amazing he can turn himself right side up in such a small space. Below, he has been happy to discover a way to turn on the water by himself. Unfortunately, he LOVES the spray nozzle and usually makes quite a mess.

Mr. and Mrs. Jason Illeman
after the ceremony in the trolley
We were able to slow him down for a few seconds to take a picture. Even in the heat, he was still running wild.

It took a whole team to dress Nate

yay, a frog. haven't seen one in years since we don't have many here in SoCal
sleeping on the job
Naomi and Jason at the rehearsal dinner. Nate was trying to get her to catch frogs with him :)
so tired from the pool. He even fell asleep on his own (a rare occurrence!)
He learned to swim on his own during this trip (with the help of his life jacket). He can now keep his head up and kick around.
ready for the pool. waiting patiently by great grandma.
We celebrated my grandmother's 90th birthday during the trip. She's a big fan of steak, so we went to her favorite, Taste of Texas.

Chaos in the dressing room for his second fitting. Nate wanted nothing to do with his tuxedo. It took a lot of building up to inspire him to wear it on the big day.
Checking out the new Whole Foods Market for lunch
Naomi cuddling Nate at bedtime
Boomer Sooner and Nate
Dave and I at Champs sports bar.

Nate's birthday on Father's Day

Nate and I were in Houston for Father's Day. It also happened to be Nate's birthday. My mom, dad, Nate, and I went over to Jason and Naomi's house for some celebrating.

Nate and Reese really hit it off.
Thanks for the great brisket and wings, Jason. Probably didn't help much that Nate kept shooting the grill with the water gun.
When can we have cake!!!???
He ate ALL around the candle and then Jason helped him lick the bottom (first picture).

Nate at preschool

Nate goes to preschool 3 half days a week. He loves playing with his friend Cooper. On this day, I brought cupcakes and the teachers made Nate a birthday hat.
