Red Rocks near Las Vegas

In September, Dave attended a bike conference in Las Vegas. Nate and I met him there afterwards for some family rest and relaxation. Little did we know when we booked the trip that our house would be flooded a few days before. So, really, this was a break from reality!
This is the view from our hotel room at Red Rock Resort looking down at the pool and toward the Red Rock Canyon area. It was a wonderful place to stay about 15 minutes away from the strip.

Did I say, we loved this place...especially the pools! Nate's eyes lit up when he saw this fountain. He had to go check it out...

The water flow changed every few minutes which was very exciting to him.

After Dave and I got a break from Nate for dinner (Nate went to Kid's Quest), we took him to the arcade for more fun. Overall, a very fun trip. Who says you can't take kids to Las Vegas!

Half way there at 20 weeks.....

and it's a BOY!!!! We are so excited to have two boys. Everything looked healthy and normal on the ultrasound yesterday. (Dave and I were kind of hoping for another boy :) ) He's already moving around quite a bit so we might need to brace ourselves for another active one, lol! Lets cross our fingers this one naps during the day and sits still a bit longer though, haha.

We asked Nate several weeks ago if he wanted a baby to live with us and he said "just a boy" (not a baby, just a boy). He is now understanding that we are getting a baby and he's okay with it. Although, he was upset the other day when he was talking to my tummy and the baby wasn't talking back to him :)

 The three of us had a little tailgate party before the Padres' game. Nate comes up with some funny ideas...drinking two drinks at the same time

We're at 18 weeks in the pregnancy. I am feeling the baby move frequently now. Here's a little video of what a baby looks like around 15-20 weeks (you may have to cut and paste the link above).

August Colorado trip

 Nate's new favorite activity is cutting. Above, practicing his skills with Nana.

 Our potential new home near Lousiville, CO. Dave is really missing the mountain life, so we may just take the plung!

 A dvd player is such a great thing to have for our long trips in the car. I checked out a Heathcliff movie from the library for the trip and it was by far his favorite.

 watching the dogs' nails being trimmed was so fascinating to Nate.

 Barb, Nate and I hung out at the kids area in Keystone during the Beer and Bluegrass fest. Nate enjoyed panning for interesting rocks.

 The snow was a bit cold for his summer attire, but he enjoyed throwing rocks into the pile.

 Lots of activities were available up on the mtn. Sledding, coasters, dining, and many kids activities. I think it was about 75 degrees, so it was very enjoyable to be outside.

 The Alpine SuperSlide. So much fun! This is near the end, but before the pile up, you could get going pretty fast.

Dave and I on the last day. We had a great time in Colorado visiting Gene, Barb, Ali, and Matt!

 Nate loves finding new ways to do things. Above, he loves climbing in our laundry basket and popping out. He goes in head first and it's amazing he can turn himself right side up in such a small space. Below, he has been happy to discover a way to turn on the water by himself. Unfortunately, he LOVES the spray nozzle and usually makes quite a mess.
