4 month update

Nate turned 4 months last week. He is staying at the 97% for his age.... 18lbs 2oz and 27" long. Our pediatrician said we should baby proof early since he is already so active! By the time we left our appointment the paper from the examination table was in shreds. Nate just wanted to roll around and play while we were in there.

We are blessed to have an active and healthy baby boy. We are enjoying his new giggle when we tickle him, reading his favorite book "Brown Bear Brown Bear", and singing his favorite song "Itsy Bitsy Spider". He loves making an "Aaaack" sound lately so it sounds like we have a crow in the house. I miss the cute "A-goos"!!! We are trying to get him to move onto new sounds like Ba, Ma, and Da sounds.... hope it's soon! He's starting to travel more by squirming and rolling both ways and he reaches for and grabs anything in sight. Also, I think in a few more weeks he will be able to sit independently.

I will post more soon about our fun week with Dave's family and my b-day!

Dave took this video last night of Nate trying to put his foot in his mouth. He just discovered his left foot a couple of days ago.

My attempt at potato stamped onsies:

Nate likes his new Exersaucer and I can have a few minutes to make dinner while he's in it.

Sadie loves to be next to Nate

Henry and Nate

Nate has a new friend in the neighborhood. Here they are having some tummy time. It was difficult to get a good shot of them with their heads up at the same time :-). Henry is Kevin and Aviva's son (Kevin works with Dave) and he is a month and a half older than Nate.

Softball Mascot

Nate had fun watching all of the action at the Johnson and Johnson softball game.

1st time in the pool

We took Nate to our neighborhood pool over the weekend. The water was a little chilly but he wasn't totally opposed to going in.

We're Back

We just got back from our camping trip through Santa Ynez Wine Country, Morro Bay, Yosemite, King's Canyon, and Sequoia. Nate's officially a camper....he even has dirt under his fingernails and between his toes to show for it!!! We had an adventurous time and we are exhausted. I will post pictures as soon as I can find my camera in our piles of camping gear!

Glad to hear everyone made it through Ike okay. Here is a link my dad sent me which includes some photos of Houston and Galveston

Sadie

I think Sadie is a little jealous of Nathan. She knows not to lay on his things but does it anyway.

1st time rolling from tummy to back

Nate accidently rolled himself to the side when he was on his tummy and then followed through by rolling all the way over. I happened to catch the very first time in the clip below. Once he figured out how to roll on his back he did it 4 more times before he got tired.

End of Summer Pictures

Watching the dogs surfSurfing at dog beach in Del Mar

We've been grilling almost every night the last few weeks.

Our local organic produce from Be Wise Ranch. We look forward to seeing what will be in our box every other week. Dave got this tent for his b-day. We went to the park to do a trial set up before we head off to Yosemite and Sequoia.

Videos

Learning to open and close his hand

Watching the monkey mobile

I love this video. I recorded it into the mirror (so imagine you are the mirror) and every time that Nate saw himself in the mirror, he smiled.

OH (big) BOY!

2 Month update

Little Nate is growing very well:

weight: 14lbs 12oz (97%)
height: 25 '' (exceeds 97%)

His latest and greatest:

turning over to one side and back again (I guess we can't set him on the table anymore!)
smiling, laughing, and more of a variety of sounds
less fussiness (thank goodness the nonstop crying has mostly gone away!)
reaching and batting at objects
responsive smiling (the cutest!) and interacting
improved eyesight...I think he can see clearly to about 5' or 6'. He can see our smile and smile back from this distance.

oh, and did I mention....DROOLING like a faucet on everything? Could he be starting the teething process already?

He got his first round of immunizations today. He's doing well, just a little sleepy.
